Description

You'll be transported to the golden age of equestrian elegance with this mesmerizing 1930s art print by Ranka S. Woods. This exquisite illustration showcases a masterfully crafted leather saddle, its intricate tooling and ornate details beckoning you to touch the canvas. The warm, honey-hued leather seems to glow against the creamy background, inviting your gaze to linger on every carefully rendered stitch and flourish.

As you hang this piece in your home, you'll feel the rustic charm of a bygone era wash over you, infusing your space with the spirit of the American West. The saddle's ornamental conchos and delicate silver accents will catch the light, adding a touch of vintage glamour to your decor.

This leather saddle print isn't just art – it's a slice of equestrian history that will become a crown jewel of your farmhouse-inspired interior.

About the Artist

This artist was a contributor to the Index of American Design. A program of the Federal Art Project that produced a detailed pictorial survey of the crafts and decorative arts in the United States. Between 1935 and 1942, around 400 artists contributed to the creation of 18,257 watercolor drawings, which are now housed at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The collection aimed to document American decorative and folk arts, capturing cultural heritage more as archival record than personal artistic expression. The Index's objective was to establish a contextual foundation for American art and design by documenting crafts and objects created between the colonial era and the late 19th century. Among the outcomes of this vast endeavor was Clarence Hornung's "Treasury of American Design," and it also served as an employment program, providing jobs for about a thousand individuals across 34 states.
