Kamisaka Sekka reduces the bird not to spirit or flight, but to presence—compressed into ink and air, as if skimming the still blue of a Taishō-era scroll. Grass crowns the horizon in ghostly green, each blade pulled from the language of folding fans and kimono motifs.
