Sekiya Village on the Sumida River - Katsushika Hokusai Art Print
Couldn't load pickup availability
Three horses cut across the Sumida River's bank at a clipped trot, their riders bound for Edo on the alternate-attendance road that once tied every provincial lord to the shogun's capital.
Hokusai paints Sekiya Village mid-crossing: a red horse carrying a man in a rich brown wrap, a bay colt trailing behind with a rider capped in woven yellow sedge, and a cream-coated mount nearing a thatched checkpoint hut where a fence of raw timber marks the village edge.
A pine, its bark scored in rust strokes, bends low over teal water bands rippling toward reed-choked shallows. Behind the riders, Mount Fuji surfaces small and orange against a sky brushed in bokashi gradient, indigo fading into cream.
This 1830s ukiyo-e woodblock print, drawn from Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, holds the procession's motion inside flat color fields and a hand-carved line, the black kanji cartouche marking the print's place within Hokusai's series of riverside travel scenes along the Sumida.

Framed Art Prints

1. Vertical
Use the sawtooth hanger at the top middle on the back of the frame and hang it on a single screw or nail.

2. Horizontal
Hang the two sawtooth hangers on two screws or nails at the same heightPut two screws or nails in the wall at the same height, spaced the same distance apart as the two sawtooth hangers, then hang your print on them.

Framed Canvas

1. D-rings (most secure)
Screw a D-ring onto the back of the frame on the left and right, both at the same height. A ruler helps here. Then put two screws in the wall where you want your canvas, level with each other and spaced the same distance apart as the D-rings. A spirit level makes this easier. Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.

2. Straight onto screws
Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
