About this Artwork

Prowling through a sea of golden foliage, Paul Ranson's tiger leaps from this electrifying art print. You'll be mesmerized by the feline's sinuous form, etched in stark ebony against a vibrant yellow backdrop. This isn't your average jungle scene - it's a fever dream of nature distilled into pure, primal energy.

Ranson's impressionist style transforms familiar elements into something otherworldly. Gnarled tree trunks writhe like serpents, framing the predator's muscular silhouette. Flowers bloom in abstract swirls, their petals merging with the tiger's stripes in a dizzying dance of camouflage and revelation.

Every brushstroke pulsates with life, from the stippled texture of the big cat's coat to the undulating rhythm of the surrounding vegetation. This vintage-inspired piece captures the raw essence of the wild, condensed into a striking interplay of form and negative space.

Perfect for nature enthusiasts and art aficionados alike, this bold wildlife print will ignite any room with its untamed spirit. Let Ranson's visionary jungle transport you to a realm where reality blurs and imagination reigns supreme.

Origin Story

Paul-Élie Ranson (1861–1909) was a French painter and writer who co-founded Les Nabis, a group pivotal in the transition from Impressionism to Modern art.

Born in Limoges, Ranson lost his mother at birth and was raised by his grandparents. He studied at the Académie Julian and formed close ties with artists like Paul Sérusier and Pierre Bonnard.

His work often reflected his fascination with the occult and Theosophy, which became more prominent as his health declined. Ranson also had a passion for theater and puppetry, establishing a puppet theater with Georges Lacombe.

In 1908, friends helped create the Académie Ranson, which he managed until his death in 1909. His wife, Marie, continued running it until 1955.
