The Larache Souk - Arnold Genthe Art Print
About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
The best seat in Larache is above the square, and Arnold Genthe has it. Climbing to a rooftop so the market opens beneath him like a ledger with tents for entries and pale cloaks for figures. Packed earth takes the long shadows of late afternoon. The round arches of the arcade step away in a white curve.
The Spanish crown held Larache from 1610 until 1689, and the town kept its Atlantic outlook long after. The Loukkos meets the sea here, and a port at a river mouth lives on whatever the countryside carries down to it. Spain also occupied Larache in 1911 and held it until 1956, so the town evolved where Spanish and Moroccan building habits met. Here the market keeps to bare ground beside old walls, with a minaret at the upper left and a white pitched roof near the center.
Genthe keeps his distance as the crowd carries on. Pale awnings and wraps catch the low sun along one edge, and long shadows reach across the earth from every awning. Every vendor is rendered in ash and pearl, the tonal softness turning the crowd into weather.
The Larache Souk awaits your living room or study as an antique market photograph, where the afternoon trade never closes and the arches keep counting.
