A faceless nude folds into a chair, and what emerges feels closer to a Nordic still life than a portrait. Vilhelm Lundstrøm sands the figure to its tonal essentials: pearl shoulder, apricot belly, dove-gray knee, a fall of chestnut and Prussian hair sweeping the spine.

Behind her, the wall snaps from saturated lapis to bone porcelain — a Danish room cleaved by light. Mint drapery trails like enamel down the right edge, and a thin maroon leg of the chair pins everything in place.

Trained at Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi and shaped by interwar Parisian Cubism, Lundstrøm built his nudes the way Morandi built bottles. Painted in his Copenhagen studio during the 1930s, this Danish modernist nude carries the quiet of Saxbo pottery and pared-back Nordic figuration.
