Frang Bardhi's Latin-Albanian dictionary of 1635 already knew the drangue, the winged hero who hunts the Kulshedra. In the old tales, villages paid this storm demon in human lives before she would end a drought. But nobody captured her side of the story. This dark fantasy portrait lets the dragon of Albanian mythology find her light at last.
She has kept her old dragon skull and wears it as a crown. Parchment-pale bone hoods her face down to the cheekbone, and the bleached muzzle above her brow stares through one blind, pearl-pale eyeball. Ridged horns rake backward in peat-black curves across a wall of sage green. Behind her shoulder a spiked tail descends in scales of honey and bitumen.
Beneath the carnage sits a face powdered eggshell-pale, its eyelid lined in kohl and carmine. As a young serpent she woke once a year, on Saint George's Day, and ate the first person she saw. In this gothic wall art, she waits to feast again with oxblood lips closed and a rust-red charm ticking from her jaw. The wardrobe of a widow who buried her own mythology.

Screw a D-ring onto the back of the frame on the left and right, both at the same height. A ruler helps here. Then put two screws in the wall where you want your canvas, level with each other and spaced the same distance apart as the D-rings. A spirit level makes this easier. Finally, hook the D-rings onto the screws.
2. Straight onto screws
Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
