Gatekeepers, Morocco - Arnold Genthe Art Print
About the Wall Art
Fine Art Prints

Forget cheap reproductions and printable posters. Only the best will do.
Velvety matte fine art paper (warm white, archival-grade, 200gsm) with bold, vibrant, non-toxic pigment inks. High-definition print lab techniques give you sharper details, deeper saturation and true-to-life tones. While the matte surface keeps glare down and archival-grade materials mean the colors you fall for stay vivid for decades.
Framed Fine Art Prints

Your print arrives framed and ready to hang, so it goes straight from the box to your wall.
Chevron cut wooden frames make a timeless statement in three distinctive colors: black, white and natural. Each frame is made of sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine. And your artwork is protected behind ultra-clear perspex glaze that’s lighter than glass and shatter-resistant.
Float Framed Canvas Prints

Luscious artist-grade cotton canvas, hand-stretched and finely textured, gives every detail depth and precision, catching light and color with striking clarity. While a precisely measured floating frame leaves a slim gap around the canvas, so it seems to hover with a sleek, gallery-worthy effect. Finished with your choice of frame color — black, white or natural — made from sustainably sourced FSC® certified knotless pine.
Giclée Printing

Forget 4 color CMYK. Giclée layers up to 12 — alive with deeper shadows, richer highlights and multidimensional contrasts. Pro-lab printing process helps art stay bold & breathtaking for up to 100 years. And the neo-pigment, water-based inks are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free.
About the Artwork
A hooded guard stands in the curve of a whitewashed arch and a three-pronged iron spearhead rises from the pillar at his side. Arnold Genthe moves in so near that plaster peeled to gray freckles crowds the frame. A second cowled shape takes the right edge as only a hood and a sleeve.
The sultan's government was known as the Makhzen, and the armed men who served it at gates and on escort were called mokhazni. A post like this one asked for patience more than force. The man here looks like someone who has been waiting since morning.
Medina gates closed at nightfall, and the men who manned them learned to wait. Wool falls in heavy pleats around a face half lost in its cowl. Light finds the cloak's shoulder and the iron tines and little else, so the man and the spear read as a pair on duty. Everything about him is still: the cloak hangs in vertical pleats, the spear stands upright, and the arch curves over both.
Gatekeepers, Morocco awaits your study or hallway as a vintage doorway print, where a trident of iron and a patient profile keep your threshold in order.
