In College Football, J.C. Leyendecker freezes a ball carrier mid-lunge. A bareheaded boy in a lampblack jersey buries his face against a rival's hip. His hands clasp together at the runner's thigh. The tackle reads as an embrace even as the runner drives for the goal line.
Leyendecker football illustration reads like muscle memory set in paint. A leather head harness cups the runner's skull.
