Leon Bonnat's The Barber of Suez opens on a blade meeting skin, a straight razor drawn slow along a lowered jaw. Bonnat painted this Egyptian genre study in 1876, years after sketching trips through Cairo and the Suez region sharpened his eye for tonal contrast and academic figure work.
The seated man's throat tilts back under the barber's palm, exposed to steel. A hammered copper vessel hangs above them both, catching a thread of cool light against the plaster wall. Ochre ground and umber shadow model the barber's shoulder, each muscle rendered with the tonal modeling Bonnat absorbed at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
The pale robe gathers in soft folds at the sitter's knee, its ivory-blue cast pulled from the same palette that made Bonnat a fixture of Third Republic Salon juries. Grit and warmth share the same square foot of canvas, where a woven mat meets a leather slipper beneath the unhurried gravity of the shave. The razor's edge catching a last warm thread of copper light between this intimate exchange of beauty and care.

Keep it simple: put two screws in the wall at the same height and rest the inner lip at the top of the back of the frame on them.
