This Samsung case carries Alphonse Adolphe Bichard’s vision of Baron Munchausen suspended between folly and triumph. The baron, arms outstretched, clutches reins attached to frantic geese, their wings outflung against an expanse of cloud. His rifle and satchel swing with comic gravity, echoing the ridiculous momentum of the tale.
Bichard’s linework and color bring theater to portable scale: crimson fabric arcs across the case, deep green drapery counterbalances, feather and claw erupt with movement. It distills the 18th-century literary myth into a 19th-century visual joke, rendered now as functional art for contemporary hands.
